Jim: Thanks, any help will be appreciated. My bike is an 87 that sat idle for about 9 years before I rescued it from the scrap heap. I don't know any of it's history, but the speedo indicates very low miles. My gas mileage is lousy, about 34/36 mpg on the highway. The bike seems to run just fine, except I run very rich and foul the spark plug at about 400 to 500 miles. I have tried all of the obvious things to improve mileage except the main jet and needle. I have recently bought new main & needle, but have not installed them yet. Don't know if the "white spacer" is in place or not, but with your experience, I suspect that it has been removed. I may want your extra white spacer. I have managed to improve the mileage a bit. When I started, I was only getting 32 mpg. Drop me a line. My e-mail address is wnboylan@msn.com
